Caring

Caring , is the conviction and determination to be kind, humane, to look after others, protect them from harm, nurture them, be mindful of and pay heed to.   Caring is associated more in the home life than the workplace, its lack being the root of many problems.

It is envisioned as being loving particularly towards siblings and animals, i.e. those whose responses are unconditional, however, when the responses become conditional so can the caring.   In the workplace employers have a duty of care for their employees and employees have a duty of care for themselves, but this tends only to be applied to ensuring workers do not have physical accidents and the concept of total caring is overlooked. It is overlooked because we all forget our own inner self also needs to be cared for and in forgetting our personal inner self we forget everyone else's.

By caring for ourselves we can understand what we need do to care for others. How do you care for yourself? You can do this by being happy with yourself, warts and all. Nurture your inner spirit by praising yourself when you do well, listen to your inner voice and your committee, recognise your good points, which will far out number the not so good ones, do this and you will find the warts are gradually disappearing. In the workplace you can develop your caring by carrying out tasks to your best endeavour, helping others, putting aside personal differences with colleagues and looking after them with as much energy and effort as you look after yourself. Now that can be a tall order, because your ego may not like it. It will argue you are helping others who in turn will do well out of it but not care about you. This could happen, they may have the career, treat others badly and make enemies, you will have happiness and receive rewards in diverse ways.
