Choosing Reality?

We create our own Reality. (i.e. we create our experiences of life and our environment)  You are likely to disagree and say words to the effect; “I couldn’t possibly create my environment or all the things that happen to me. I have no control over what happens to me. I react to circumstances occurring around me”.

Which is the correct statement?

To provide an answer it is first necessary to define the question.  The word ‘create’ may be defined as bringing into existence.  ‘Real’ is defined as actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact  and reality is defined as what is real or existent.  The question may be rewritten “Do we bring into existence ourselves and all that is around us?”

As a human being we have 5 traditional senses, taste, touch, hearing, sight and smell, that we are all familiar with.  We also have thoughts and feelings.  These are the tools we use to measure our existence.  From this it may be observed that something exists in your reality only if you interact with it using one of these tools. If you have no physical measurement using your senses, then it does not exist in your physical reality. You cannot directly measure thoughts and feelings but they exist. Their existence is not in the physical world but in the unmanifest reality.  So you can see that we all have two aspects of reality, the manifest (physical) and unmanifest (non physical)

Because your tools are unique to you then your reality is also unique to you. i.e. no one can have the same reality as you. They may have similar realities but cannot have the same reality as you. Your measurements and interpretations are your experience of the manifest reality. This would seem to confirm that we are merely reacting to outside stimuli and having experiences based on our reactions. This makes no allowance for the unmanifest reality, the world of our thoughts and feelings.

Science accepts that human beings, the planet on which they live and all that makes up the rest of our solar system and the universe is energy of one form or another.

If you accept the “Big Bang” theory then all of creation comes from the same source which exploded to create all that is as we know it, therefore as we all come from the same source and every piece of this energy is connected to every other piece of energy . If you go for the “God created..” theory, then all of creation is part of God as there can be nothing external to God, so every thing is connected and part of the same source.

Whichever way you choose to view it we are all energy from one source.  It comprises every human being, and all the other life on the planet such as fish, birds, plants etc..  It is also the planet itself, the rest of the solar system and all those systems within our universe. This source is the manifest and the unmanifest, creation itself.  We are part of it.

There is no limitation to the way this energy may be utilized. Energy is being, behaving, acting, in different states, as it vibrates at different rates. Energy waiting to be shaped by other energy.  The energy we interact with using our senses, makes up what we call reality.

Initial experiments connected with quantum theory showed that the observer affected the outcome of the experiment.  Subsequent experiments have shown that an observers interaction causes the manifestation of particles for the duration of the interaction. i.e. when you bring your awareness to a particle it comes into existence, when you close your awareness the particle ceases to exist.

These experiments show that whatever you the reader become aware of, exists for you, but when you cease to pay it any attention it stops existing in your reality.  This doesn’t necessarily mean the object of your awareness ceases to be, as it could be the focus of someone elses awareness.  It just ceases to exist in your reality.  Your reality coexists alongside the reality of others.

So much for the explanation of how each of us has our own unique reality, but what about the creation of it?

The main aspects of our reality are thoughts and feelings which arise as a consequence of what we believe. eg. a belief that getting married is desirable, is likely to generate thoughts about weddings and feelings of happiness at the thought of being married.  If ones belief was that marriage was to be avoided, then a completely different set of thoughts and feelings would be generated.

Thoughts and feelings are energy. Thoughts can be measured in the patterns of our brainwaves.  Feelings are also measurable, by the impact they have on the body, as may be demonstrated by the effect of anger, how it creates an increase in blood pressure, causes muscles to react etc., just as feelings of love make the world seem a better place.  Thus we can see how we are creating with the thoughts and feelings we have.

Quantum mechanics tells us that things come into existence only when we are aware of them, which gives the conundrum of how can you be aware of anything until it exists?

To answer this, return to the idea that we are all energy bodies from the same source. Experiments have shown that any body of energy is connected to every other body of energy and can communicate instantly no matter how far the distance. Even more recent experiments have shown that the communications can go backwards in time and travel faster than the speed of light, thus the answer to a question can arrive before the question is asked!

To summarise, our thoughts and feelings, energy patterns which flow out into the unmanifest universe, instantly trying to react with all the energy that is in the unmanifest world. Some reactions do occur with energies of similar patterns and where these reactions occur the unmanifest changes to become manifest. i.e. you bring into physical existence a manifestation which is relevant to your thoughts and feelings.  The more focused the energy of the thoughts and feelings the greater the clarity of the manifestation and the quicker it is manifested in our physical world.

Happy thoughts and feelings create happy events. Unhappy thoughts and feelings create unhappy events.

This explanation runs contrary to the Newtonian science that most of us are taught in schools, and to the beliefs with which we are raised.

Quantum mechanics shows we are not separate, stand alone models, but part of a much larger sentient being or entity.  An analogy would be to compare ourselves to a cell in the human body.  There are millions of cells making up your body. Each one acts independently but has access to a DNA blueprint that is your body.

In your body cells work together for the greatest benefit of your body.  The cells are created to have experiences for the benefit of your body, the experiences are directed by you whose body it is, but it is the cell that has these experience.

Similarly, we as human beings are part of a larger entity, namely creation and live our lives to have experiences for the benefit of the entity.  We have free will to live the life we choose within the limits of the energy that is our physical being.

So, to answer the original question “Do you create your own reality?”  the answer is yes, but science is only just becoming aware how powerful you are. Now it's your turn to find out!

Experiments have shown that we spend between 95% and 98% of our life in automatic response mode, the domain of the Ego. Know that your response helps create your reality.

A major personal change may be brought about by not judging. Non-judgement removes all the feelings associated with good/bad, right/wrong, acceptable/unacceptable and that of guilt. It produces a state of unconditional love.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Whatever I do, I do for or to myself. Perhaps I should think before I perform actions because after the seed of action is sown I have to reap the fruit. Moreover, I do not necessarily receive only one fruit for every seed sown, I often get a whole crop, positive or negative according to the action or seed.
